Tribute to the classic, Retro 12 Dirty Dozen Army Watch

Tribute to the classic, Retro 12 Dirty Dozen Army Watch

"The Dirty Dozen" was originally the title of a 1960s film about the misadventures of 12 fictional soldiers during World War II.

During World War II, the British Ministry of Defense (MoD) decided that the civilian watches of the time were not suitable for the needs of soldiers and decided to order custom watches.

They set strict standards: accurate, reliable, durable, waterproof and shockproof; unified by a black dial, Arabic numerals, luminous hands, luminous hour markers, railway minute track, shatterproof crystal and stainless steel case.

The British Ministry of Defence (MoD) entrusted the production to 12 watch manufacturers at the time, they were Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex. In the watch industry, the 12 military watches produced by these 12 manufacturers are collectively called "The Dirty Dozen".

For a long time, the Twelve King Kong is a popular watch collection industry. As a military watch, its stock is actually very large, but it is a big challenge to collect all twelve watches. Some people estimate that there are less than 20 watches in the world. Collectors own the complete "The Dirty Dozen".

The  12 Dirty Dozen is the first non-civilian watch ever used by the British army, and it is still one of the most sought after military watches, not only because of its classic aesthetic design and simple but durable performance, but also because of its unique history.

Although it is a tribute model, Baltany has upgraded and adjusted many details.

First of all, luminous, Baltany insists on using the original Swiss brand luminous, instead of using some Swiss luminous powder to modulate the luminous. The process has undergone more than ten times of luminous printing. The cost is indeed not cheap, but it can ensure the luminous effect. "Real men" are not only "strong" but also "lasting". In order to enhance the playfulness of luminous, a two-color luminous combination is used. The second hand and Arabic numerals use BGW luminous blue light, and the track hour markers and hour and minute hands use retro plaster yellow and green light.

The overall waterproof performance has been improved. The screw-in crown, the CNC-machined screw-in bottom cover and the imported sealing ring have a 100-meter diving level waterproof function, which is more durable and gives you more peace of mind.

Bubble mirror sapphire double-bulb glass, serpentine hands, plaster yellow track scale, 36mm small dial, this time a leather NATO belt is specially added for selection, and many retro elements reshape the classic watch.

Smaller details, such as the lug holes, were originally limited by processing technology and could only be pierced ears. When you unfolded them, you can see that there are four small holes in the case body, which is really awkward. Of course, now there are better equipment and technical conditions. What is done is the inner ear hole, which is naturally more beautiful.

Baltany Dirty Dozen D12 Mechanical Edition also produces blank dials, which can provide customized services for a full set of micro-labels and patterns on the dial, bottom cover, clasp and crown.

There are three choices of straps: leather NATO, nylon NATO and genuine leather straps.
